Porcelain Veneers

Woodland Park Dental
Dr. Caesar Hearne

Porcelain veneers are modern tooth coverings that coat the whole front face of the teeth. It’s always best to think of porcelain veneers in the same manner as you think of fake fingernails. A porcelain veneer is a small piece of custom-made porcelain that is bonded into place and is crafted exceptionally for your mouth. These are very traditional therapies since they need minimal tooth alteration and preserve most of your initial tooth structure.

Our dental laboratory creates porcelain veneers to your precise specifications. We can fit almost any hue, form, or contour, and porcelain veneers will never fade or yellow. Like any other dental reconstruction, Porcelain veneers can crack or wear off with time, but most of our patients with veneers on their front teeth can easily bite into apples, corn on the cob, fish, or ribs! It is a beautiful, lovely way to enhance your smile. Porcelain veneers can also improve the color and appearance of your teeth.

Porcelain veneers are ideal if your teeth are discolored or broken or if you want to eliminate gaps between your teeth. Porcelain veneers aren’t for everybody because they have certain drawbacks in terms of what they can do. We’d love to speak to you more about what’s available before we know for sure that this is the best treatment for you.

Porcelain veneers typically necessitate two visits to our dentist office. We numb you and ready your teeth for veneers before taking an impression of your teeth to give to the dental laboratory. Since it takes the lab about two weeks to produce your porcelain veneers, we make an acrylic veneer for you to wear until your porcelain veneers are done and ready for placement. At the follow-up appointment, we thoroughly inspect the veneers for proper fit, shadow, and form. The acrylic veneers are removed, and the porcelain veneers are bonded to your teeth. You may not need to be numb for the second appointment because you can typically eat with veneers right away.
